HEATHER HUTSON
Chief Infection Control Officer
Heather Hutson, RN, is Chief Infection Control Officer of HERD Advisory Board and AMS Infection Prevention Partners. Heather received her RN degree from Baptist Health Schools-Little Rock in 2010, while working weekends as an LPN charge nurse for Chambers Nursing Home Center, a long-term care facility in Arkansas. She previously served as director of nursing at Chambers, where she oversaw the infection control program, reducing the use of unnecessarily prescribed antibiotics and lowering the facility’s infection rate by an astounding 75%. In addition to maintaining a 4-5 star rating, under her direction Chambers won many awards, including “Most Improved Quality Measure” and “Facility Of The Year.” A member of the Arkansas Nursing Home Nurses Association and nominee for Arkansas DON of the year in 2019, Heather is a Board-Certified Infection Preventionist as well as a Dementia Well-being Specialist and CPR and First-Aid instructor.
ELLSWORTH HARRIS
Business Development Officer
Ellsworth Harris is the Business Development Officer of the HERD Advisory Panel and CEO of AMS Infection Prevention Partners. He has more than 15 years of experience in various operations and business development roles in long-term care, working with numerous executives, operators, REITS and ancillary service providers on complicated clinical and financial issues. In the early part of his career, El oversaw the development of PrevMED’s mobile dental service. Responsible for equipment, staffing, logistics, clinical mentorship and oversight, he ultimately expanded the operation into six states and more than 400 communities before it was acquired by Mid America Health in Greenwood, Indiana. In 2016, El joined Real Time Medical Systems, the pioneer in Interventional Analytics, where he served as chief sales and marketing officer. Under his leadership, Real Time improved per-unit sales by 1,000%. El’s success at Real Time included selling proven solutions to long-term care facilities and expanding resale channels, in addition to providing operational, sales and marketing strategies. El's relationships in long-term care span almost 2 decades. As CEO of AMS, El's knowledge of infection prevention/surveillance is exactly the information your lab needs to expand testing services to long-term care. He will provide the insight to make you their partner and not just their lab test vendor.
RICH SAWICZ
Chief Operations Officer
Rich Sawicz is COO of The HERD Advisory Board and Operations Director of AMS Infection Prevention Partners. A veteran in the long-term care, dental and insurance industries, Rich co-founded SeniorDent, the nation’s original provider of nursing home dental care, in 2000. Under Rich’s leadership, SeniorDent now operates in 14 states, providing onsite dentistry and optometry to thousands of long-term care residents each year. He has expertise in founding and exiting startups, and specializes in building infrastructure, as well as in operational and finance roles. An avid skier, sailor and Merchant Marine captain, Rich lives in Chicago, Illinois, with his wife and their children.
DAVID ROBINSON
Chief of Staff/Program Coordinator
Dave Robinson is Chief of Staff of the HERD Advisory Board and AMS Infection Prevention Partners. He also serves as President of the Infection Prevention and Control Association, a trade association aimed at furthering infection prevention and control legislation in Congress and protecting seniors in long-term care, which he was instrumental in founding. Dave has experience in the economic development, large- and small-business sectors, laboratories and project financing. He has a BA from Hobart College and a Masters in Urban Planning from the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning. An avid sailor and skier, Dave is based in Annapolis, Md.
